Pew Fellowships in the Arts (PFA) has posted 12 short films that explore the work and artistic processes of its 2008 Fellows.
PFA has been awarding grants to artists since 1991, when it was established by the Pew Charitable Trust as a program for the Pew Center for Arts and Heritage. These grants provide direct support to artists so they can exclusively pursue their creative work. The award amount increased in 2008 to $60,000.
The 2008 Fellows are artists in three discipline categories: theatre, painting, and folk and traditional arts. There are twelve discipline categories for PFA awards, which rotate on a four-year cycle.
